Women, both cis and trans, genderqueer and non-binary folks who identify as femme of center are socially conditioned and often expected to give all the fucks, all the time. It’s exhausting and unsustainable to feel responsible for everyone else’s emotions. Sponsored by Pivotal, this event is for folks working in the Seattle Tech arena.
In this dynamic two hour workshop, we’re going to explore deciding for ourselves how and when we want to engage with the needs, opinions and desires of other people. Especially the people who seem to think they know our experience better than we do.
We will cover many different facets of how gender roles impact our ability to be the center of our own experiences:
Preventing Compassion Fatigue
Identifying Invisible Labor
Reinforcing Your Right to Set Boundaries
Effectively Countering Gaslighting
Building Intersectional Solidarity
