Women building solidarity requires us seeing the wisdom and competence derived from navigating multiple forms of stigma and discrimination. It means acknowledging our differences and honoring each woman's unique lived experience. It means sitting down and being humble in recognition of how all women are leaders. Women are already leading, all the time, without recognition and without reward.
No more molding ourselves into the dysfunctional and exploitive power dynamics that rely on disempowerment and gaslighting. No more "leadership development" that pits women against each other by capitalizing on archaic gender conditioning and unhealthy boundaries.
Being is solidarity via collaborative leadership means we practice for ourselves and each other:
- Preventing Compassion Fatigue
- Addressing Invisible Labor
- Being Mindful of Burnout
- Reinforcing the Right to Set Boundaries
- Effectively Countering Gaslighting
Let's figure it out together. Just coming to the workshop is already a supportive intervention you're taking on your own behalf. Spending an evening with a group of women who want you to be held and cared for while you succeed in life... is fucking amazing. I'm just saying.
This workshop is a support group for women. We use an inclusive definition of “woman” where trans women, genderqueer and non-binary femmes, and folks who are femme of center are welcome.
The cost of the workshop is $25. And there is a sliding scale ticket option to donate what you can. Please buy tickets in advance to help us know how many women to expect. And yes you can also pay at the door.
